Gorilla ROI — Point & Click Data Connector

The Gorilla ROI Data Connector: Amazon, Shopify is a Google Sheets addon that lets you pull live data from your eCommerce platforms directly into your spreadsheet — no formulas, no coding, no manual exports required.

Updated this week

What can you do with it?

Once set up, you can pull data from:

  • Amazon Seller Central

  • Amazon Ads

  • Shopify

  • Walmart

Before you start

Make sure you have the following ready:

Installing the Add-on

If you haven't installed the Gorilla ROI add-on yet, follow these steps:

  1. Open Google Sheets in your browser.

  2. In the top menu, click Extensions.

  3. Select Add-onsGet add-ons.

  4. In the search bar, type Gorilla ROI Data Connector: Amazon, Shopify and press Enter.

  5. Click on the add-on from the results, then click Install.

  6. Follow the on-screen prompts to grant the required permission.

Note on permissions: The add-on requests access to your Google Sheets in order to write data into your spreadsheet. No data is shared with third parties beyond what is needed to connect your Gorilla ROI account.

Opening the Sidebar

The sidebar is your main control panel for the connector. Here's how to open it:

  • Open the Google Sheet where you want your data to appear.

  • Click Extensions in the top menu.

  • Hover over Gorilla ROI Data Connector: Amazon, Shopify.

  • Click the Show sidebar.

The sidebar will appear on the right side of your screen. At the top of the sidebar, you'll see three tabs:

    • Account Tab to manage your Gorilla ROI account connection and enter your Account ID to authenticate the connector.

    • Schedule tab to configure automatic data refresh to keep your spreadsheet up to date without manual intervention.

    • Query tab to create, view, and manage all your data queries from a single location.

Once logged in successfully, the connector is active and ready to use.

Where do I find my Account ID? Log in to your Gorilla ROI App and look for your Account ID in your dashboard.

Important: Your Account ID is case-sensitive. Make sure there are no extra spaces when copying it.

Creating Your First Query

A query tells the connector exactly what data to pull and where to place it in your sheet. The query builder walks you through the steps — each step must be completed before the next one becomes available

Step 1 : Open the query builder

In the sidebar, click Create New Query. The query builder will open.

Step 2 : Select your starting cell

Click on the cell in your spreadsheet where you want the data to begin (for example, cell A1). This is where the connector will start writing your data.

Step 3 : Choose your Data Source

Click on Data Source to expand it, then select the platform you want to pull data from:

  • Amazon Seller Data

  • Amazon Ads Data

  • Shopify Data

  • Walmart Data

Step 4 : Select your Account & Marketplace

Click Select Account to expand it. Choose your Seller Account from the dropdown, then select your Marketplace (for example: US, UK, DE).

If no accounts appear in the dropdown, click Reload Accounts & Marketplaces. Make sure your account is connected in your Gorilla ROI App under the Connections tab.

Step 5 : Set your Date Range

Click Select Period to expand it. Click the Date range dropdown and either:

  • Choose a default range such as Last 7 Days, Last 14 Days, or This Month.

  • Select Custom to enter a specific start and end date.

Click Add period if you want to add more than one time periods for comparison.

Step 6 : Pick your Dataset

Click Select Dataset to expand it. Use the Select datasets dropdown to choose the type of data you need — for example, Sales or Inventory. The available datasets will vary depending on the data source you selected in Step 3.

Step 7 : Choose your Metrics / Fields

Click Select Metrics to expand it. Use the dropdown to select the specific columns you want returned in your sheet. You can select multiple metrics.

Step 8 : Save and run the query

Once all steps are complete, the Save and Create Query button at the bottom of the sidebar will become active. Click it to run the query and pull your data into the sheet. You will then be prompted to give your query a name — enter a name that makes it easy to identify later and click Save.

Refreshing Your Data

Data pulled by the connector is a snapshot taken at the time the query was created or last refreshed. To get the latest data, you need to refresh your queries.

Refreshing a single query

  1. In the sidebar, click the Query tab (the bar chart icon at the top left).

  2. Find the query you want to update in the list.

  3. Click the Refresh icon (circular arrow) next to that query.

Refreshing all queries at once

If you have multiple queries across your spreadsheet, you can update them all in one go:

  1. Open the Query tab in the sidebar.

  2. Click Bulk Query Refresh at the bottom of the sidebar.

The connector will refresh all queries in the spreadsheet one by one.

Setting up automatic daily refresh

For dashboards and reports that need to stay up to date without manual effort, you can schedule the connector to refresh all queries automatically once per day:

  1. In the sidebar, click the Schedule tab (the clock icon).

  2. Under Action, click the dropdown and select Refresh Daily.

  3. Select the start time and time Zone.

  4. Click Save changes.

Troubleshooting

The sidebar won't open

  • Refresh the page and try again via Extensions → Gorilla ROI Data Connector → Show sidebar.

  • Check that your browser isn't blocking pop-ups for Google Sheets.

  • Try opening an Incognito window to rule out a conflict with another browser extension.

My Account ID isn't working

  • Make sure you're copying the Account ID exactly as shown in your Gorilla ROI dashboard, no white-spaces.

  • Check that your Gorilla ROI subscription is currently active.

  • If the problem persists, contact Gorilla ROI support with your Account ID and the error message displayed.

No accounts are showing in Select Account

  • Click Reload Accounts & Marketplaces inside the Select Account step.

  • Confirm that your Seller Account is connected in your Gorilla ROI dashboard under Connections.

Data isn't appearing after I saved the query

  • Check that the cell you selected in Step 1 was still selected when you clicked Save. If you clicked elsewhere before saving, the data may have been written to an unexpected location.

  • Open the Query tab — if your query appears in the list, the data was written successfully. Check the cell reference shown (e.g. Sheet1!A1) to find exactly where it was placed.

The auto-scheduler isn't running

  • Open the Schedule tab and confirm the Action dropdown shows "Disable Daily Refresh" — this means the scheduler is active.

  • Check that the Google account that set up the scheduler still has access to the spreadsheet.
